    Full on insights In brief, the book shows us how the brain works in real life situations, the chemicals released, such as adrenaline the parts of the actual brain that is active such as the amygdala and how we can influence our brains in difficult situations, stress etc to gain a better outcome For example, Person A has a huge set of tasks before her at work Stress levels go up chemicals released because part of the brain is activated to respond to what she is thinking The stress builds up affecting relationships, sleep and health Now how could Person A reduce those stress hormones in the beginning by simply changing her thinking and activity I have missed out all the details on purpose I m writing a brief comment not a summary Too much detail in a comment can put some people off buying a book However, if the above has tickled your interest, then this would be a good book for you.

    What I like about this book is that gives a physiological perspective on behaviour that backs up some ideas that I have read in books on psychology and questions others.Amy has written a book that, instead of being dry and unintelligible to the non expert, is interesting, understandable and provides advice on making use of the knowledge that it uncovers.
